Hemp is NOT marijuana, although they come from the same plant species, cannabis sativa. Both marijuana & hemp have phytocannabinoid molecules such as the psychoactive, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and non-psychoactive cannabidiol (CBD). Per federal laws, hemp must have less than 0.3% THC (2018 Farm Bill), whereas marijuana is known to have high concentrations of THC in its flowering buds. Both phytocannabinoids can interact with your body in amazing ways (because our body already produces endocannabinoids), however, currently THC is illegal at a federal level.
