CBD is commonly used to alleviate inflammation, which makes it a logical choice for people living with arthritis. Several animal studies have shown that CBD is effective in treating pain. In 2011, this study showed that CBD can affect pain receptors in the brain in a positive way. Two studies, in 2014 and again in 2017, showed that CBD alleviates pain when applied to the skin, such as with a pure CBD oil drops. Most recently, researchers concluded that CBD might be safe and useful for treating pain from osteoarthritis.
